Hotel Barcelona Princess
Barcelona, what an absolute beauty of a city. We stayed at the Hotel Barcelona Princess for three nights. The hotel online was as brilliant looking as it was with our own eyes, it gloried a modern state of the art design.
We arrived mid afternoon after a couple of underground metros from the city centre. It was relatively easy to find, just keep a map handy as when you’re not used to the underground network it can become a little crazy.
Its situated on Avenida Diagonal, 1 in front of the Forum and the Congress and Convention Centre of Barcelona only 20 minutes away from the city centre.
From the outside, it really does stand out. Tall, colourful and pristine, you almost crick your neck looking upwards it’s that high. On entry we checked in at reception, we could not fault the staff, helpful quick and efficient.
We had a room on the 26th floor, stunning is an understatement. We could see the rooftop pool from our room. We could also see the sea from one angle and the city on the other. A real joy.
Our room was spacious, clean and equipped with all we needed for our stay. We had free Wi-Fi in the room accompanied with a minibar, kettle, bathroom accessories, towels, slippers & robes for our use of the pool.
The bathroom kind of looked a little open towards the bedroom, until we discovered the blind that clearly cuts of the bathroom view.
The hotel has several bars and restaurants, we enjoyed trying a few out, all were very relaxing and tastefully decorated, not to mention extremely tasty and very affordable.
N1 Restaurant has the capacity of 160 people. It is a really lovely room that is light and airy. It has an amazing view over the city, you won’t be forgetting that one anytime soon.
Located on the first floor with lift and stair access. Breakfast was served as a buffet style, leaving the guest to enjoy the freedom of choice.
Corner Bar, perfect for a quick lunch. its menu was simple but of high quality. We loved every mouthful.
There is also a Gym Bar which is adjacent to the swimming pool, located on the 3rd floor of the hotel with views over the forum. Open from March until October from 10:30 to 12 midnight.
Estrella Restaurant a truly well-decorated room that makes you stand back and admire. It is on the first floor of the hotel and holds around 35-40 people. It boasts Mediterranean style cuisine. Again we couldn’t fault the food or the service.
The hotel is not that far from city nightlife, really just a hop away where you will find bars open until 5 am or you can take a slow stroll if preferred, as you can walk all the way up along the beach line if you prefer a little exercise.
It takes you to some lovely beach bars and eventually to the Gothic Quarter, another must see.
This hotel is amazing, we loved it, the rooftop pool is a must, if like me you love the stars, take a dip at night as the pool is open quite late. Nothing better than swimming with the stars shining overhead. There are two pools, one on the rooftop and one situated right next to the Corner Bar.
The price of our stay was really spot on, we didn’t pay through the nose as with other four-star hotels. It is great for couples and business clients, it has so much to offer.
We will definitely stay again at the Hotel Barcelona Princess, it hit every note for us. We love Barcelona and can’t wait to return.
